The Non-Academic Things I’ve Learned in College (so far)

As I’m writing this, I can clearly remember being in high school thinking, “Someone save me and get me to college already, PLEASE.” I didn’t have much friends back then and it was mainly the reason why I wanted college so bad. With that in mind, I expected college to be the haven of all great things. Talk about a plethora of friends, social events, freedom, and most importantly, I thought I’d be done with it in four years.

    This Month’s Playlist: February 2019

No, my February playlist does not contain love songs. Well, for the most part, at least no.

I take my playlist wherever I go and I just can’t leave without my music. Come on, I know you can very much relate to that. Although, I’m not a fan of the usual pop you hear on Spotify’s Top 100 so you most definitely won’t see Ariana Grande’s 7 Rings in this playlist.

7 Days in 1: A Week in Review (Week 1)

Time really does fly fast when you’re having fun, doesn’t it? Last time I checked, I was back at home opening Christmas presents with my family on the last week of December. I was happy, fulfilled, and my heart was so full knowing that at the time I was surrounded by the people I love the most. Fast forward to now and I’m back in the city; basically back to reality. I mean, could things BE more complicated in here? Give me more problems! It’s not like I need any less of them, am I right??? Insert massive sigh here.

Tips & Tricks: Here’s How to Achieve that No Makeup Makeup Look

All the other beauty gurus sure are going to get all crazy at what I’m about to say… Would you believe me if I tell you that it only takes me 7 to 10 minutes to do my makeup each day? Tell you what, I’m obsessed with the no makeup makeup trend just like any other gal. It keeps my face looking fresh and simple on a daily basis. No need for all the crazy layers of foundation. Definitely no baking situation required. And because of the reason that I fortunately don’t have too much acne on my skin, it saves me so much time when I’m preparing for the day.

With this, I have come up with a list of tips and tricks on achieving that natural look.

Pick Up a Skincare Routine Today and Thank Me Tomorrow

Four years ago, I would’ve told you skincare wasn’t something I’d most likely to prioritize. Choosing the perfect routine for my skin wasn’t something I worried about at 16. In fact, I had myself believing that soap and water as my go-to facial care was enough. But as your typical teenager who munches up on junk food quite a lot (even I couldn’t resist the temptation of a good slice of pizza, duh) and wouldn’t exfoliate regularly, I had no idea how these bad habits could affect the skin. Thank goodness that at the age of 18, I finally started realizing the importance of proper skincare. And that’s when I observed change right away.

Keeping Up with the Resolutions 2K19

You’re in the middle of December, re-evaluating the year that is 2018, and then you suddenly think of a good resolution for 2019. Immediately, you think: Will I actually be able to follow this through? Hold that thought, keep reading and you’ll never have to ask yourself that question again.

If you’ve already come up with a list of your new year’s resolutions, congratulations! You’re a step ahead of making 2019 YOUR year (yes, claim it). Listing it all down seems easy alright, all you’ll need are a pen & paper and a sane mind. But after that comes even the greater struggle: keeping up with the list.

    Show Mornings Who’s the Boss

WE GET IT, YOU’RE NOT A MORNING PERSON.

Or maybe you are and if that’s the case, then good for you! I bet planning the rest of your day isn’t as complicated for the lot of you who are. Although, it is a fact that mornings can be such a drag for some of us that organizing tasks and to-do’s for that specific day could be such a burden. Whether you are a morning person or not, technology (specifically our phones) is one common thing we all have. So, better yet that we start taking advantage of it in the most efficient way possible.

On Adulting: How to ACTUALLY Live in the Moment

    AH, LIFE. *SIGHS*

You probably have heard of the so-called “living in the moment” concept a couple of times before and you’re thinking: How exactly? In traditional terms, it’s called mindfulness, which is all about being in a state of open and intentional attention on the present; you become both an observer and an admirer of life as it happens in front of you, and you live each moment with pure gratitude.

Quick Thoughts on Men Without Women by Haruki Murakami

    WHEN IN DOUBT, READ MURAKAMI.

Okay, let’s get straight into it and I’ll try to do this as spoiler-free as I possibly can. The novel was, as expected, really great. It contains seven stories of, well—men without women. Not literally though, there were female characters, but eventually as you read on, you will see why it’s called Men Without Women. These seven stories are entitled Drive My Car, Yesterday, An Independent Organ, Kino, Scheherazade, Samsa In Love, and the last one, I think, would be more interesting if you find out for yourself. I’m not sure if it will give you the same ‘wow’ effect but it turned out to be the main point of the story so I had a little eureka moment after reading it.
